Lennon Sails is a new name in sailmaking but has started with bang winning the I14 world, European and National championships. Also in its first year taking the Cherub Nationals the Moth Europeans , UK and German Nationals plus 2nd in the Worlds. And although the brand is new to the Merlin class, its founder Mike Lennon is not. His sail designs have won countless Merlin championships in the hands of Jon Turner, Phil King, Glen Truswell and Mike himself.

Lennon Sails have been able to get straight on top of things producing sails for Alex Jackson early last year.

Whilst the spinnaker and jib have taken a family resemblance to Mike’s previous design work, the main was designed to move forward with the Membrane concept. This gives more freedom to enable the designer to use cloth stretch control widely across the design. Experience has shown in other classes that this can give better acceleration and shape control.
