The QAXm mainsail design captures all the R&D Quantum and Truswell have expended in the pursuit Membrane concept. The sail is on the deeper side compared to some of our competition but due to the stable nature of the material flattens off very easily. The shape stays flat in the exit giving good acceleration in gusts. The 2025 version had more Aramid fibre than past iterations and we have refined this further for 2026. Our 2026 iteration is more draft aft in the upper third to help control over the top two battens.

Alongside the fibre changes for 26' we continue with the black outer skin but now from our own in-house development. Our new skins are more robust with better lamination adhesion. The skins are made from a spread filament process which is aligned, so adding to all up material modulus.  

The head is of moderate width to better manage drag. An oversize head will produce too much lift induced drag in light air when it’s set up with some depth and too much friction drag when it's set flat with little or no lift.

For 2026 we have added a radial panel mainsail made from same design criteria as the membrane Fusion sail. Made from DP ODL06, the black aramid fibre offers better uv protection and modern look.
