Asymmetric (Dynakote 75) A1d

Our spinnaker has quickly gained a formidable reputation in its ability to reach high when needed whilst having the size and grunt to run fast. The concentration during the development being very much on drag reduction, working hard to improve the downwash angle. The resulting sail is step change in performance and transformed Glen’s ability to reach high when needed as well as the essential getting low, fast. This sail has proven popular with many front runners and is coded as the A1d Asymmetric design.

The fuller design is also available and coded as the A2d.

The A2d was the result of tactical analysis which showed  greater need to cover off boats that could soak to lower angles, despite the VMG of the A1d being better than the opposition designs. The exposure to a permanent wind bend or header just before you have to gybe can rattle the nerves. So the A2d is deeper whilst following the same design philosophy as the A1d. The extra depth allows covering off those super soakers !

The outside edge shape has also changed for 26' alongside changing the sheeting angle via a foot/ leech size change.

Both designs are made from Contender’s Dynakote 75 which is slippery coated 40 gram/m2 Nylon available in a range of colours (depending on stock at the time of order).
